Introduction
If, like me, you’re in the habit of browsing Medium in search of inspiration for your future personal projects. You’ve probably noticed a certain pattern that repeats itself over and over again. When a new topic becomes popular, or a new library is released, everyone sets out to write the best possible article on the subject (from their point of view).
Unfortunately, this creates a certain weariness due to repetitiveness.
Also, most of us writers on Medium are individuals, alone at home, in front of our laptops. The scale of our projects and articles is sometimes nipped in the bud by a lack of resources or time. Not everyone has 30 hours to devote (attempting) to replicate the architecture of Airbnb or Netflix.
On the other hand, if we had access to articles popularizing these architectures, we could quickly learn from the best and avoid long hours of fruitless research.

I’ve put together for you a list of 10 Tech Companies Blogs that I consider to be must-reads. With each blog, I’m going to share with you an article that stood out for me.
I recommend those because they are approachable and easy to read. You will understand how companies solve technical problems. You will also slowly become more familiar with technical concepts. You can even reach out directly to the authors of the blogs, who are mostly employees of the companies.
Let’s get started!
1. Google
Yep, starting with the Google we all know and love.
Recently, his close friend Bing made a surprising comeback with the help of ChatGPT, but whether we’re looking for answers to our questions, booking a flight, or finding a recipe, Google’s always there to help out.
2. Airbnb
Airbnb is the website we think of when we’re tired of boring hotels.
Looking for a cozy place to stay in the middle of nowhere? Airbnb’s got you covered. Quite often, you’re joining someone’s home and this is what makes these stays special.
This time, my favorite article was actually written by one of the company’s employees. This one captivated me the most, as it goes into the details of their algorithm for ranking potential accommodations for our stay.
For example, they explain how their neural ranking network calculates the probability of booking a given accommodation for the current user. One way of ranking is to look at how many guests in the past have booked listings with similar combinations of price, location, reviews, etc.
I’ll let you discover the other ways in the blog post from Malay Haldar
3. Netflix
Netflix and chill? Movie night?
Jokes apart, this platform has become the must-have in streaming with its almost infinite catalog. They have also succeeded in renewing themselves and offering original series watched by millions.
